Yes
complete!!! at last ... the series one is back on the
road, well only if it's dry. Two and a half years of
lost evenings and weekends later the series one is reborn
- improved upon over standard. We have fixed it's week
points while maintaining an standard external look.
What next for the project rs? well for this year at
least we will be doing some of the RS shows and generally
having fun with it. In the winter we will be concentrating
on more power. But that's the next part of the project.
Below is the final stages including some footage of
it on the road. Loads more to come as we "do"
the shows and track days.

Look
at the finished car above ... pic above taken while we were bedding
in the monster brakes and road testing the car. Which apart from
the odd hose and fuel problem went well ... very well.
Just as amazing underneath, fully detailed and restored where
most eyes will never see, lets see how much cleaning this takes!
See left.
The final stages were easy mainly just finishing trim left unfinished
and adding the finishing detail like the grill (waited for ages
to get hold of a new one in the end getting a new one off ebay)
Other things like the header tank and finishing engine detail
from Auto Specialists arrived and helped us finish the project.

Nice
shot showing just how clean the car is, also shows the brakes
off too.

Interior sorted - all the extra work sourcing
mint parts for the interior really paid off. The only thing remaining
is the original ford stereo, of which we have several. We are
not sure if we want to put a stealth system in ( using the dummy
fascia of an original stereo ) or to just put the original item
back in. Watch this space.
(Any ICE specialists give me a call).

So
what next?
Where do we go from here 2 years plus work hundreds of man hours in
later ... just as many sourcing parts. Do we go for big power - with
a 2.0L conversion? Watch this space. Also coming soon a DVD of the
project with over 300 pictures of the restoration plus on the road
and track footage of the car in action.
We should be doing a few shows this year so look out for us.
